Bed

On the third floor, with a view of the Trent and Neuse Rivers, are three spacious bedrooms, each with a private Jacuzzi bath. One room has a Queen bed, one a King, and one a Queen and a day bed with trundle. Converted in the late 1990's to a B&B, the third floor was part of the original living quarters for the Harvey family and dates back 200 years. Each room has cable TV and an original fireplace, which today are decorative only.

Let the years and stress roll away as you enjoy the hospitality of the Inn and the town. Located next to the Convention Center, The Harvey Mansion is centrally located for walking in historic New Bern. Visit a while and then relax before dinner with a beverage of your choice in the common area with a balcony overlooking the water.

This can be your one stop evening out with our 1797 steamer bar downstairs, the award winning Harvey Mansion Restaurant for dining, and a wonderful night's rest in one of the rooms. Complete your stay with a delicious hot breakfast served in the common area every morning.

The main floor dining room is handicap accessible. The other five rooms are on the second floor. The Green room was the original formal parlor for the Harvey family with its ornate woodwork and molding. The Board Room has a conference table and chairs and is perfect for business meetings and gatherings for up to 10. Each of the rooms has a fireplace and local art is showcased in the dining rooms. Whether it is an intimate, romantic atmosphere or a larger room for more people, we can meet any need.

Our menu has been created by Chef Scott Weiss and features a complete array of seafood, beef, poultry, and lamb. Dinners are beautifully presented and amply portioned and include a house salad and fresh homemade bread. Regular items such and Beef and Brie en Croute, Lamb Osso Bucco, Ahi Tuna Steak, Chicken Chesapeake, and Carolina Crab Cakes that rival the Eastern Shore of Maryland keep our guests coming back. Nightly specials, sumptuous appetizers and homemade desserts temp your palate and add to your dining experience.
